NDMC Closes SAR 9.5bn August Sukuk in Five Tranches

The National Debt Management Center (NDMC) has completed its August riyal-denominated sukuk issuance, allocating a total of about SAR 9.518 billion across five tranches. The issuance falls under the Saudi Arabian Government SAR-denominated Sukuk Program, which offers government sukuk in monthly domestic tranches.

The allocation was split into five instruments with staggered maturities. The first tranche totaled SAR 1.550 billion maturing in 2031, followed by a second tranche of about SAR 2.396 billion maturing in 2033. The third tranche was SAR 258 million maturing in 2036, the fourth tranche about SAR 4.064 billion maturing in 2039, and the fifth tranche SAR 1.250 billion maturing in 2041.

Each tranche represents a fixed-maturity government sukuk. For every issuance, NDMC discloses the total bids received, the total amount allocated, the awarded yield and price, along with the ISIN and Tadawul code, in its Local Sukuk Issuance Program tables.

Why it matters

Government sukuk are a core tool for financing and deepening the local capital market. Investors access these instruments through official NDMC and Ministry of Finance channels and via listings on the Saudi domestic capital market (Tadawul). Retail subscription and trading are handled through licensed Saudi financial institutions and brokerage platforms connected to Tadawul.

It is worth noting that e-government platforms such as أبشر, مقيم, قوى, ناجز and نفاذ are not used for subscribing to or trading these government sukuk; that activity takes place through the capital market channels above.
