Sixteen new economic and development projects have been posted for public feedback on the government's unified consultation platform, Istitlaa, in cooperation with 10 government entities. The move, announced in April 2026, gives individuals, government bodies and the private sector the chance to share comments and proposals before the projects are formally approved.
Istitlaa is a Saudi government e-platform operated under the National Competitiveness Center to publish draft regulations, policies and related projects for review. Each of the 16 projects includes a title, the responsible ministry or authority, a description of its objectives and target audience, the draft document, and clearly marked start and end dates for the consultation period.
Feedback is submitted entirely online. Users navigate to the Istitlaa portal, select a project from the list of open consultations, review the details and draft texts, and then fill in the comment form on the same project page. Some projects also include multiple-choice questions alongside written feedback.
Open-consultation periods for projects currently listed typically run from about two to eight weeks from the posting date, with each project page specifying its exact closing date. There is no fee to access the platform or to submit comments, and no subscription or paid service is required for basic use.
For most consultations, users can submit comments after logging in through the national digital-identity sign-in used across government services, though some projects allow basic account registration. No separate registration on other named platforms is required to view or comment on these 16 projects.
The step matters to residents and businesses across the Kingdom because it opens the door to shaping rules and policies that affect daily life and the wider economy before they take effect, reinforcing a more participatory approach to regulation in line with the country's development goals.
