NUPCO to Open 4 Medical Logistics Centers by 2026

Saudi Arabia is set to open four new medical logistics centers within two years as part of a national push to strengthen healthcare supply chains. Two centers are scheduled to open in 2025 and two more in 2026, expanding warehousing and distribution capacity across the Kingdom.

The network focuses on distributing medicines and medical devices to public healthcare facilities in all regions, supporting end-to-end supply chains and improving overall efficiency in the health sector. The centers serve a centralized role in procurement and distribution for government hospitals and clinics.

Existing centers already in operation

Large logistics centers are already operating in Madinah and Qassim, each covering around 32,000 square meters with high-capacity warehousing for pharmaceuticals and medical devices. The Madinah center includes storage for about 23,000 pallets and 20,000 storage shelves, along with a fleet of 19 vehicles.

The Madinah facility also supports Hajj and Umrah health services by ensuring the rapid provision of medicines and medical supplies during the seasons, when demand rises sharply across the region.

Why it matters

The rollout is aligned with the health-sector transformation under Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to improve the quality of medical services, boost supply-chain resilience, and support the localization of pharmaceutical manufacturing. For residents and patients, a stronger distribution network means more reliable availability of medicines and medical supplies at public healthcare facilities across the country.

The centers operate as infrastructure within the public health system rather than as fee-based venues, and no patient or provider fees have been indicated for their services.
