Petro Rabigh Names Hassan Al Yami as New CEO

Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh) has appointed Hassan bin Hamad Al Yami as its new President and CEO, with the appointment taking effect on 1 September 2026.

Al Yami succeeds Othman bin Ali Al Ghamdi, who resigned as CEO effective 31 August 2026. Al Ghamdi will remain a member of the company's board of directors, ensuring continuity during the leadership transition.

The incoming CEO brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across the refining and petrochemical sectors. He previously served as Vice President of Saudi Aramco's Ras Tanura Refinery and held several other senior positions in Aramco-affiliated companies in Saudi Arabia and abroad.

Why it matters

Petro Rabigh is one of the Kingdom's major integrated refining and petrochemical complexes, and its leadership plays a role in the wider energy and industrial sector that supports thousands of jobs and downstream businesses.

A smooth handover between an experienced outgoing executive who stays on the board and a new CEO with decades of sector expertise signals stability for the company, its partners, and the surrounding industrial community as it continues its operations.
