Riyadh Municipality has launched 58 new municipal investment opportunities across multiple sites in the capital, aiming to expand private-sector participation and support ongoing city development. The opportunities cover a wide mix of activities and are offered electronically to interested investors.
The 58 opportunities span a total area of more than 373,000 square metres, distributed across several municipal locations in Riyadh. They include commercial, residential, sports, industrial, and warehousing uses, as well as parking areas, kiosks, cafés, parcel centres, mobile sports clubs, sports academies, and industrial workshops.
The opportunities are offered through the national municipal investment portal “Furas”, the unified investment portal for cities in Saudi Arabia under the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing. Access and applications are handled entirely online through the platform. Each listing shows the site location, land area, permitted activity, competition number, contract duration, and the offering method, such as temporary or direct rental.
Furas also allows electronic submission of bids and supporting documents, and includes a built-in map of municipal investment opportunities. The map is a free e-service available around the clock with no browsing fee, and the service is shown as being completed within 24 hours.
Rental values, initial bid securities, and document fees differ from one opportunity to another depending on site size, activity, and contract term, and are specified individually rather than as a single standard fee. Contract terms for Riyadh municipal investment sites typically range between 5 and 25 years, varying by project type.
For residents and business owners, the initiative widens access to investment options across multiple districts of the capital, in line with efforts to grow the local economy and improve city services. Interested parties can view the listings and compete for opportunities through the Furas portal and Riyadh Municipality’s investment section.
