Riyadh Sports Boulevard Opens First Public Phase

Riyadh opened the first public phase of its Sports Boulevard project on 27 February 2025, giving residents and visitors access to a new recreational route spanning 83 kilometres across the capital. The opening marks the shift from announcement to public use, with the launched area forming part of a phased rollout of the wider project.

The initial phase includes five destinations: Wadi Hanifah, The Promenade, the section at the intersection of Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road and Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al-Awwal Road, the internal loop at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, and the first phase of Sands Sports Park. Together, these sites offer walking, cycling, and open recreational spaces along the route.

There is no entry fee for the opened phase, and no validity period applies to public access, making the destinations open for everyday use by families, walkers, and cyclists across the city.
