Saudi Arabia Among G20's Fastest for Mobile Internet

Saudi Arabia has secured a place among the G20's fastest countries for mobile internet, ranking within the top five on this indicator with an average mobile internet speed of 216 Mbps,

The report recorded a median 5G download speed of 320 Mbps and a median mobile latency of 24 milliseconds. It also noted a median mobile internet download speed of 194.49 Mbps at the end of 2025, alongside a median fixed download speed of 126.35 Mbps.

A separate February 2026 network report described Saudi Arabia as the fastest large land-area country globally for mobile download speed on high-end devices, at 207 Mbps. That report showed STC leading the market with an average mobile download speed of 69.3 Mbps, ahead of Mobily at 60.3 Mbps and Zain at 52.1 Mbps. On 5G download speed, STC again led at 260.2 Mbps, followed by Zain at 242.7 Mbps and Mobily at 224.4 Mbps.

Rankings vary depending on methodology. One June 2026 global index placed Saudi Arabia 8th worldwide for mobile speed, while national reports cite considerably higher averages, reflecting differences in how measurements are collected.

Why it matters

For residents and expats across the Kingdom, faster and more reliable mobile connectivity supports everyday tasks — from streaming and video calls to online banking, delivery apps, and remote work. The steady improvement in speeds reflects ongoing investment in digital infrastructure as part of the country's broader push toward a connected digital economy.
