Riyadh Air is moving into its final preparations to begin commercial flights in 2026, with public booking already opened for its inaugural international route between Riyadh and London Heathrow. The new carrier plans to expand its launch network through the summer of 2026.
The airline's first public scheduled route connects Riyadh with London Heathrow, operated using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The carrier received its first two Dreamliners in June 2026, a milestone that supported preparations for the commercial launch.
As part of its 2026 rollout, Riyadh Air has announced additional destinations including Jeddah, Dubai, Cairo, Madrid, and Manchester, gradually building out its route map for travelers based in the Kingdom.
The airline also secured approval to operate flights to the United States in June 2026, broadening its planned international reach ahead of full service.
Why it matters
For residents and travelers in Riyadh, the arrival of a new full-service carrier means more direct connections and greater choice on key international routes. As the launch network grows, passengers can expect expanding options linking the capital to major cities in Europe, the Gulf, and beyond throughout 2026.
