Saudi Arabia has been ranked among the world’s top 10 countries for private artificial intelligence investment, The recognition reflects the Kingdom’s rapidly expanding digital infrastructure and its growing weight in the global AI economy.
Saudi AI companies raised 9.1 billion USD in 2025 across roughly 70 investment deals in the private sector. By early 2026, total AI-related investment commitments from public and private entities exceeded 20 billion USD, covering data centers, cloud infrastructure, and internal research and development at major Saudi firms.
Under Vision 2030, the Kingdom has committed over 100 billion USD to artificial intelligence, data centers, and specialized hardware through sovereign initiatives and national programs. A dedicated AI and digital-infrastructure fund linked to the Public Investment Fund carries an allocation exceeding 40 billion USD for phases running between 2024 and 2029.
Why it matters
The Saudi AI market is estimated at around 2.3 billion USD in 2025, with a projected compound annual growth rate of about 37% through 2031, and some assessments pointing to as much as 60 billion USD by 2030. The national strategy targets AI contributing around 12% of GDP by 2030, an estimated 135 billion USD in economic value.
With a declared "Year of AI 2026" and a strategic goal of becoming the world’s third-largest AI market by 2030 after the United States and China, growth is tied to expanding data center capacity, GPU clusters, and cloud projects. Recent 2026 financing arrangements include up to 1.2 billion USD for AI infrastructure expansion. Notably, Saudi companies now allocate around 8% of revenue to AI, above the global average of roughly 6% — a sign of the private sector’s deepening commitment.
