Saudi Arabia is expanding its digital school health services, offering fitness and exploratory health screening to students in cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. Parents can now book first-grade appointments online, choosing an available healthcare center and time slot that suits them.
Bookings are made through the Sehhaty application. Once inside, parents select a nearby healthcare center and an open appointment, then bring their child in for the scheduled check.
The screening is comprehensive. It includes verification of vaccination records, a review of the student's medical history, and a body mass index (BMI) measurement. Children also undergo vision, hearing, and speech assessments, along with dental and oral checks and a general clinical examination.
Why it matters for families
The exploratory program is designed to catch health issues early, refer students to specialists when needed, and build a reliable health database for schoolchildren. For parents, this means potential problems can be identified before they affect a child's learning or daily life.
The service is provided through Ministry of Health channels, and no fee has been specified for it. Families with a child entering first grade are encouraged to book early to secure a convenient center and time.
