Saudi Bank Loans Reach SAR 3.54 Trillion by July 2026

Total banking loans to the private sector and non-financial government entities in Saudi Arabia reached about SAR 3.54 trillion by the end of July 2026, This marks a rise from roughly SAR 3.32 trillion a year earlier, a growth of around 7% year-on-year.

The private sector accounts for more than 92% of these loans, while non-financial government entities represent approximately 8%. Separate credit data show bank lending to the private sector alone stood at around SAR 3.266 trillion at the end of July 2026, growing by about 5.6% to 6% compared with the same period last year.

On the public-sector side, bank claims on the government were about SAR 670.9 billion, while claims on non-financial public enterprises reached approximately SAR 273.7 billion. Together these form the public portion of overall bank claims.

Why it matters

The steady rise in lending reflects continued momentum in financing across both business and public sectors, in line with wider economic activity under رؤية السعودية 2030. Growing credit to the private sector often signals expanding investment, business activity, and demand for financing among companies operating in the Kingdom.

For residents and business owners in الرياض, جدة, and beyond, the figures point to an active banking environment that continues to support commercial growth. These are macro-level statistics covering the banking system as a whole, and they are not tied to any individual fees, service channels, or procedural steps.
