Saudi Living reports that consumer spending across the Kingdom reached SAR 130.14 billion in June 2026, a rise of about 6% year-on-year compared with roughly SAR 122.62 billion recorded in June 2025. The figure signals steady growth in overall household and consumer activity across the country.
Despite the annual increase, spending in June 2026 came in lower than the previous month, May 2026. The month-on-month easing reflects a return to normal demand levels after the higher spending typically seen during the Ramadan period.
How Saudis Paid
The June 2026 breakdown showed point-of-sale (POS) transactions leading at SAR 57.49 billion, followed by ATM cash withdrawals of SAR 39.02 billion and e-commerce payments via Mada totaling SAR 33.63 billion. The mix highlights the continued strength of card and digital payments alongside ongoing cash use.
POS activity remained substantial, with around 1.009 billion transactions processed through roughly 2.5 million payment devices during the month. This underscores how widely electronic payment terminals are now spread across shops, restaurants and services nationwide.
For residents and businesses, the figures point to a resilient consumer market. The steady year-on-year growth, combined with a natural post-Ramadan slowdown, offers a useful snapshot of spending patterns as households return to routine budgets after the peak season.
