Saudi Entertainment Draws 45.7M Visitors in H1 2026

Entertainment events and activities across Saudi Arabia attracted 45.7 million visitors during the first half of 2026, covering January through June, in a clear sign of the sector's continued growth and its expanding role in daily life for residents and visitors alike.

the entertainment sector recorded an overall visitor satisfaction rate of 96%, reflecting steady improvements in the quality and variety of events on offer nationwide.

To support this expansion, the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) issued more than 2,500 licenses for entertainment and supporting activities in the first half of the year. The authority also carried out over 8,500 inspection visits to venues and events during the same period to monitor service quality, safety standards, and operational efficiency.

In the second quarter of 2026 alone, the GEA handled 586 complaints through its complaints and follow-up mechanisms, part of ongoing efforts to raise service levels and strengthen communication with the public.

Why it matters

The rising numbers point to a sustained surge in events and attendance across the Kingdom, giving families in Riyadh, Jeddah, and other cities a wider choice of activities and experiences. The growth also supports the entertainment objectives set out under Saudi Vision 2030, which places culture and leisure at the heart of a more diverse economy and an improved quality of life for the community.
