Saudi Non-Oil Exports Drop 11.4% in June 2026

Saudi Arabia kept its merchandise trade in surplus during June 2026, even as its non-oil exports and overall trade balance recorded year-on-year declines,

Non-oil exports excluding re-exports fell 11.4% compared with the same month a year earlier. When re-exports are included, overall non-oil exports declined 9.7% year on year. Re-exports on their own dropped 6.7% over the period.

Total merchandise exports, covering both oil and non-oil goods, decreased 4.5% year on year in June 2026. Imports also eased, falling 3% compared with June of the previous year.

Despite the softer export performance, the Kingdom recorded a merchandise trade surplus of SR17.31 billion for the month. That figure was 10% lower than the surplus recorded in June 2025, reflecting the combined effect of weaker exports and a smaller drop in imports.

Why it matters

Growing non-oil exports is a central goal of the Kingdom's economic diversification drive, so month-to-month movements in these figures are watched closely by businesses, investors and the wider community. A single month of decline does not signal a trend, but it offers a snapshot of how trade flows are shifting as global demand fluctuates.

For residents and businesses in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, trade balance data helps illustrate the health of local supply chains, manufacturing and logistics activity. Saudi Living will continue to track official trade figures as they are released in the coming months.
