The Saudi Tourism Authority has launched a new global campaign titled “I Came for Football, I Stayed for More”, released in September 2025 under the “Saudi, Welcome to Arabia” brand. The campaign features football star Cristiano Ronaldo and aims to position the Kingdom as a year-round destination for sports, entertainment, culture, fashion, and film.
The campaign targets international audiences across Europe, India, and China, inviting visitors who come for football to discover a wider range of experiences across the country.
It showcases a packed calendar of events, including the Esports World Cup, Formula 1, LIV Golf Riyadh, tennis, boxing, and Saudi Pro League football. The spotlight falls on three major destinations: Riyadh, Jeddah, and AlUla, each offering a mix of sporting, cultural, and leisure attractions.
Why it matters
For residents and visitors alike, the campaign highlights the growing variety of large-scale events and destinations available throughout the year. It reflects the Kingdom's ongoing push to grow its tourism sector and welcome international guests, offering both expats and travelers more reasons to explore Riyadh, Jeddah, and AlUla beyond the sporting arenas.
At this time, there are no confirmed changes to Saudi tourism visa fees, validity periods, application steps, or official processing channels. Travelers planning a visit should continue to rely on official channels for the latest entry requirements.
