The Saudi Arabia U-21 national football team is continuing its training in Japan as it prepares for the football competition at the Aichi–Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, which run until 3 October 2026.
The squad arrived in Japan on Sunday, 13 September 2026, joining a wider Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee training camp in Fuji that runs roughly from 29 August to 3 October 2026. The Japan stage follows a preparatory external camp held in Doha, Qatar, from 6 to 13 September 2026.
Under head coach Luigi Di Biagio, the daily sessions combine fitness work with tactical drills and small-sided practice matches, as the technical staff fine-tunes the team ahead of its group fixtures.
Group D and opening matches
Saudi Arabia has been drawn in Group D alongside Korea Republic and Qatar. The team is scheduled to open its campaign against Qatar on Friday, before facing Korea Republic on Tuesday, 22 September 2026.
The camp, travel, and match arrangements are organized by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, under the umbrella of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee. Training sessions form part of a closed national-team camp, with logistics covered by the federation and the Olympic committee.
For fans across Saudi Arabia, the Asian Games offer another chance to follow the Kingdom's young talent competing on a major continental stage, as the country continues to invest in developing its next generation of footballers.
