The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) and King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in Jeddah signed a memorandum of understanding in June 2026 to promote physical activity and community sports among students and local residents. The agreement is implemented through KAU's Deanship of Student Affairs in cooperation with the federation.
Under the MoU, the university will allocate and prepare its sports facilities and halls on campus for community sports programs and events, while facilitating logistical access for equipment and providing organizational support. Student participation will be encouraged through university channels and student affairs programs, and the federation will oversee the quality of jointly organized activities to ensure they meet approved operational standards.
Programs and Targets
The partnership will develop community sports programs on campus, including running races and motivational programs designed to increase regular physical activity. New student-focused sports activities aim to promote healthier lifestyles and a more active campus culture, using the university's resources to create an engaging environment for students and the surrounding community.
The two sides set an annual participation target of at least 500 participants
The initiative forms part of the federation's national strategy to raise physical activity rates and expand community sport offerings by engaging universities and utilizing their facilities. It emphasizes innovative community sport inspired by local culture, integrated into campus life. The move supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 for a healthier, more active society.
Participation and registration for the activities will be organized through the university's internal channels, including Deanship of Student Affairs announcements and university event systems, alongside the federation's program communications. No fees or paid ticketing were specified for the programs.
