Sports for All, KAU Sign Deal for Campus Sports

The Saudi Sports for All Federation and King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in Jeddah signed a memorandum of understanding in June 2026 aimed at promoting physical activity and community sports across the university campus.

The agreement sets out to raise physical activity levels among KAU students and the wider surrounding community, while strengthening community sport through the use of the university's existing facilities and resources. Both parties framed the partnership around supporting healthier, more active lifestyles in line with Saudi Vision 2030 quality-of-life goals.

Under the MoU, campus sports facilities and halls will be allocated and prepared for student and community programs. Fields, halls and tracks will host events and daily physical-activity opportunities, with logistical support for equipment and operations. The federation will oversee implementation to ensure programs meet approved standards and requirements.

Planned activities

Planned programs include running races and endurance events on campus, motivational and fitness initiatives for students and staff, and a range of community sports activities designed around local culture. The partnership sets an annual target of at least 500 participants across its programs and events.

Implementation focuses on activating campus spaces — courtyards, open areas and indoor halls — to weave physical activity into daily student life, with attention to both physical and mental well-being. Activities will be based at the KAU main campus in Jeddah, primarily through the Deanship of Student Affairs and its sports and recreational facilities.

Publicly available information on the agreement does not specify participation fees or ticket prices for the programs. The initiative reflects a growing push to make sport more accessible to students, staff and residents in Jeddah, encouraging everyday activity within familiar community settings.
