The National Program to Combat Commercial Concealment recorded 239 suspected cases of commercial concealment during August, following a large-scale round of inspections across businesses in the Kingdom.
The program said the suspected cases came after more than 5,000 field inspections were carried out on commercial establishments during the month, as part of ongoing efforts to detect and address violations.
Commercial concealment refers to enabling a non-authorized person to conduct business activity in ways that fall outside the licensing and regulatory framework. Tackling it is viewed as important for protecting the local market, ensuring fair competition, and safeguarding legitimate businesses and consumers.
For residents and business owners, the inspections underline the importance of operating within licensed and regulated channels. Compliant establishments help maintain a level playing field, while enforcement efforts aim to strengthen transparency across the commercial sector.
The reported figures reflect the scale of monitoring underway, with inspection campaigns continuing to cover a wide range of businesses. Authorities have encouraged the public to support these efforts by reporting suspected violations through official channels.
