The total number of Umrah performers reached 15,233,767 during the first quarter of 2026,
Domestic performers made up the largest share, at approximately 9,464,496 people, or around 62% of the total. International Umrah performers accounted for about 5,769,271, representing roughly 38% of the overall figure.
The data also showed a gender breakdown, with male performers making up 59.4% of the total and female performers 40.6%. Saudi nationals represented 28.9% of all Umrah performers during the quarter.
Why it matters
The figures point to steady demand for Umrah among both residents inside the Kingdom and visitors arriving from abroad. For communities in cities such as Riyadh and Jeddah, high pilgrimage volumes typically translate into increased activity across transport, hospitality, and services connected to the two holy cities.
The strong share of domestic performers highlights the continued interest in Umrah among people already living in the Kingdom, including expatriate residents. Meanwhile, the sizeable international share reflects ongoing arrivals from outside the country, supporting sectors that serve pilgrims throughout the year.
