UNESCO AI Ethics Forum Continues in Riyadh

Riyadh is hosting the fourth UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, held from 14 to 17 September 2026 at The Ritz-Carlton, Riyadh. The forum is jointly organized by UNESCO and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by SDAIA and ICAIRE, under the theme "Transforming Global Cooperation for Ethical AI Governance."

The gathering brings together officials, researchers, and specialists to discuss how artificial intelligence should be governed and supervised as it becomes more embedded in daily life. Sessions focus on AI governance, safety, oversight, accountability, institutional readiness, capacity building, responsible innovation, and stronger international cooperation.

Registration for the forum was free and opened through the official registration page hosted by the Saudi AI research and ethics center. There is no fee, permit, or additional service cost tied to attendance.

Why it matters

As AI tools increasingly shape services, work, and public life across the Kingdom, the discussions in Riyadh point to how governments and institutions are working to set clear rules that keep the technology safe, fair, and accountable. For residents and businesses alike, the forum signals a growing focus on responsible use of AI and greater cooperation across borders to align standards.

Hosting an event of this scale also reflects the Kingdom's expanding role in global technology conversations, positioning Riyadh as a meeting point for shaping how AI is managed worldwide.
