A new training initiative will prepare 900 young Saudi job seekers — men and women — for technical and specialized careers in the media sector, under a strategic partnership between the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf) and a dedicated news training academy based at the Saudi Press Agency headquarters in Riyadh.
The program targets unemployed Saudis who aim to work in private-sector media establishments. Each training track runs for 12 months and combines theoretical study with practical workshops and field training, delivered through dedicated newsrooms, studios, editing suites, and digital production facilities.
What trainees will learn
The curriculum covers a broad range of media specializations, including journalism and news production, the use of technology and artificial intelligence in media, leadership and journalism ethics, media management and partnerships, news awareness and digital content, and specialized English-language programs for media and communications. The initiative also offers professional certification tracks across several media fields, with courses shaped around current labour-market needs.
The training includes specialized media career days designed to connect participants with employers in the sector, giving graduates a clearer path into media jobs.
Why it matters
For young Saudis entering the workforce, the initiative opens a structured route into a fast-changing industry where technical and digital skills are increasingly in demand. Eligibility is typically managed through the national employment and training platforms linked to the fund, where applicants create or update a job-seeker profile and submit an online application. As of 2026, no mandatory registration fee in Saudi Riyal has been published for this specific program, and exact tuition or stipend figures have not been announced.
