AKDITAL Opens First Riyadh Hospital in Al Olaya

A new private hospital has begun serving patients in central Riyadh, marking the entry of the AKDITAL Group into the Saudi healthcare market. Located in the Al Olaya district, AKDITAL Hospitals Al Olaya started receiving patients in early September 2026 after obtaining its official operating license from the Ministry of Health.

The facility spans a built-up area of more than 17,600 square meters and offers an approximate capacity of 140 beds. It began providing services as a fully operational private hospital immediately after receiving final regulatory approval.

The license was issued after the Ministry of Health and other competent authorities reviewed and audited the required licensing and operational prerequisites for private health facilities. This included completing facility design and construction in line with Ministry regulations, submitting technical documentation through designated e-health and licensing platforms, and verifying compliance with health, safety, staffing, and equipment standards before the final operating license was granted.

Part of a wider Saudi expansion

The Riyadh launch is part of AKDITAL's broader Saudi expansion plan, which carries total planned investments of about SAR 5.3 billion in hospitals across several cities between 2025 and 2030. The plan targets an aggregate capacity of around 1,000 beds nationwide by 2030, spanning Riyadh, Mecca, Medina, and Jeddah, through both new developments and acquisitions.

In Riyadh specifically, the entry includes the new Al Olaya hospital as well as the acquisition and rebranding of the existing Al Mishari Hospital as Akdital Hospitals Riyadh Olaya. The wider investment framework references a total value in the range of USD 1.4 billion for six hospitals, including the flagship Riyadh projects.

For residents and expats in the capital, the opening adds new private healthcare capacity in one of Riyadh's most central districts, supporting a growing network of medical facilities in the city.
