Saudi Arabia's domestic electric-vehicle sector entered a new phase after CEER launched its first two locally made electric cars, the EXOBOT sedan and the EXOBOT SUV, on 21 September 2026. The vehicles will be produced at CEER's plant in King Abdullah Economic City.
Customer sales inside Saudi Arabia are planned for early 2027, with series production scheduled to begin in January 2027. CEER says it plans a seven-vehicle lineup over five years, signalling a longer-term push into the local market.
the sedan offers up to 670 km of range and the SUV up to 560 km, both measured on the NEDC cycle, while charging from 10% to 80% takes about 30 minutes. CEER has not published official Saudi purchase prices for either model, and no official pre-order channel, registration fee, delivery fee, or financing price has been announced.
A limited launch offer includes a complimentary home charger or an installation allowance of up to SAR 2,000, subject to CEER's terms. There is currently no Saudi purchase subsidy or EV-specific VAT exemption; standard vehicle taxes and registration requirements apply. Private-vehicle registration (istimara) is generally SAR 100 and periodic inspection (fahs) is generally required after the new-vehicle exemption period at SAR 115 including VAT, with the certificate valid for 12 months.
For residents and expats weighing a switch to electric, the launch adds a homegrown option to the market. No CEER-specific procedures through Absher, Muqeem, Qiwa, Najiz, Nafath, Balady, Tawakkalna, or Etimad have been announced, so buyers should watch for official details on pricing and ordering closer to sales opening in early 2027.
