Saudi Living reports that the storage fee exemption at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam and Jubail Commercial Port has been extended until 2 November 2026, keeping the same cargo categories and exemption periods in place for shippers and logistics operators.
The exemption covers transit and transshipment cargo — including containers, flat racks, trailers, and IMDG dangerous-goods containers — with a 90-day storage-fee waiver. It also applies to empty import cargo, including containers, flat racks, and trailers, with a 20-day storage-fee waiver.
Because the fees are fully waived during the exempt periods, no set Saudi Riyal charge applies for the covered storage time. The measure is a port-specific facility and does not require any step through Absher, Muqeem, Qiwa, Najiz, Nafath, or other government service platforms.
Why it matters
For businesses moving goods through the Kingdom's eastern ports, the extension provides continued cost relief and predictability on storage-related expenses through late 2026. Transit and transshipment traffic in particular benefit from the longer 90-day window, while importers handling empty equipment gain a 20-day buffer before storage charges apply.
The move supports the competitiveness of Dammam and Jubail as regional trade and logistics gateways, encouraging faster cargo flow and easing pressure on supply chains that rely on these ports.
