Eastern Archery Championship Opens in Dammam

The Eastern Championship Archery tournament was held from 22 to 24 October 2026 at Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University Stadium in Dammam, bringing together 196 male and female archers representing more than seven Saudi clubs.

Organized by the Saudi Archery Federation, the competition featured 40 categories with a total of 120 medals on offer, giving competitors across different age groups and skill levels the chance to contend for places on the podium.

A refereeing team of 10 officials supervised the event over the three days, overseeing the various rounds and ensuring the matches ran smoothly in line with the sport's standards.

Why it matters

The large turnout and the broad range of categories reflect the growing presence of archery across the Eastern Province and the wider Kingdom. Events like this give clubs a regular competitive platform, help identify emerging talent, and strengthen the base of the sport at community level.

The strong participation of both male and female archers also points to the expanding opportunities for athletes of all backgrounds to take part in organized competition, supporting the development of sport in local communities.
