Saudi Archery Federation Expands Youth Championships

The Saudi Archery Federation has launched a regional championship series for the 2026–2027 period aimed at expanding participation, uncovering promising talent, and raising the technical readiness of athletes across the Kingdom.

The first events in the series have already drawn strong turnout. An indoor championship took place at Al-Arabi Club’s indoor sports hall in Unaizah, Qassim, on August 22, 2026, bringing together more than 95 archers from 12 clubs.

In the Eastern Province, the Eastern Championship was held at Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University Stadium in Dammam from October 22 to 24, 2026, with 196 archers from more than seven clubs competing across 40 categories.

Looking ahead, an elite championship is scheduled at Safaa Stadium at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Thuwal from June 25 to 29, 2026, featuring 220 archers from 20 clubs.

Why it matters

The series gives young archers more opportunities to compete regularly and measure their progress against peers from clubs nationwide. By spreading events across multiple regions, the federation is working to build a wider base of participants and a clearer pathway for athletes to advance from grassroots competition to elite level.
