Health authorities have launched the 2026 seasonal influenza vaccination campaign, offering the shot free of charge to citizens and residents at Ministry of Health facilities across all regions of the Kingdom, with a special appeal to high-risk groups to get immunized before the peak of flu season.
The vaccine is available at primary healthcare centers and MOH hospitals during regular clinic working hours. Appointments should be booked through the Sehhaty (صحتي) application using the “Seasonal Influenza Vaccine” service. While walk-in vaccination may be offered at some primary healthcare centers, prior booking via Sehhaty is the standard process promoted this year. No other government platform is required to reserve a slot.
Who should get vaccinated
The campaign prioritizes people at higher risk of complications, including those with chronic diseases or on immunosuppressive medications, adults over 50, children aged 6 months to 5 years, pregnant women, individuals with severe obesity, and healthcare workers. Authorities stress that the vaccine should be taken annually, as circulating strains change each year and the shot is considered valid for one flu season, roughly one year.
For many Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, the seasonal flu vaccine forms part of current health requirements and is recommended before travel. Pilgrims can typically obtain it in their home country or within Saudi Arabia through health facilities.
Home-visit vaccination is available in some areas for vulnerable groups such as children, pregnant women and the elderly, arranged through dedicated MOH home services integrated with Sehhaty, with no extra fee. Officials describe the campaign as part of national preventive health and quality of life efforts, encouraging routine seasonal vaccination for the wider public and not only high-risk groups.
