Housing Program Adds 80,000 New Homes in 2026

Saudi Arabia's housing program has announced plans to build 80,000 residential units and develop land across multiple regions in 2026, with investments of about SAR 70 billion, as part of a wider push to raise home ownership among middle-income families.

The program said more than 107,000 residential units and developed plots have been provided to 90,000 families, boosting supply in the housing sector. From the start of 2026 through the end of May 2026, 51,072 Saudi families moved into their first homes, while 38,471 families benefited from housing support services during the same period.

By the end of May 2026, the number of subsidized housing contracts issued to Saudi families reached 1,040,215. The 2026 project expansion also includes residential towers in Riyadh for the first time, with Makanah as the first tower project.

How to apply

Applications for housing options, subsidies, and financing are handled through the official Sakani portal. The financing flow is: log in to the Sakani platform or app, select a real estate product, determine the financier, enter financing information, accept the initial offer, then send the application to the financier.

Some housing packages can provide a non-refundable immediate subsidy of up to SAR 100,000 or SAR 150,000, depending on the approved subsidy matrix. Beneficiaries may also extend the finance period up to 25 years, while bearing the profits for the additional period.

For assistance, the Beneficiaries Care Center is available at 199090, from 8 am to 8 pm, Sunday to Thursday. The expansion matters for residents seeking greater access to affordable ownership options as housing supply continues to grow.
