HRDF to Train 900 Saudis for Media Careers

The Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF / Hadaf) signed a strategic partnership in February 2026 to train 900 Saudi male and female job seekers for technical and specialized media careers in the private sector. The agreement pairs HRDF with a dedicated news-training academy to qualify nationals for roles in advanced media.

The initiative targets specialized professions across the media field. Programs cover technical and creative skills in advanced media, specialized media career days, English-language courses tailored to media and communication, and professional certificates in several media disciplines.

Training is organized into 12-month tracks, each designed to strengthen technical and creative capabilities and prepare participants for labor-market requirements. Tracks combine classroom and online learning with practical application at private-sector establishments.

Eligibility is limited to Saudi job seekers registered with HRDF, with a focus on male and female nationals; expatriates are not included in this initiative. Enrollment is handled through HRDF's official electronic portal and its media-training programs section, while the academy publicizes the training calendar through its own digital platform and social media accounts.

Fully funded and certified

The partnership is framed as a training and empowerment initiative, with HRDF financing program costs. Trainees are not charged commercial course fees under the announced agreement. HRDF's 2026 partnership portfolio across multiple sectors totals SAR 1.96 billion and aims to train and employ around 16,000 citizens, with the media initiative counted among these strategic partnerships.

Participants who complete the programs and meet requirements receive specialized professional certificates in defined media fields, recognized within HRDF's frameworks for employability and career development. The move offers Saudi job seekers a structured, funded pathway into a fast-growing sector and supports national employment goals.
