Jeddah Cements Status as Global Sports Hub

Jeddah continues to build its reputation as one of Saudi Arabia's leading sports destinations, hosting major international football and motorsport events that regularly draw crowds of more than 60,000 spectators. Two venues anchor this role: King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, known as Alinma Stadium or "Al-Jawhara," and the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

Located north of the city near Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Road, roughly 30 km from central Jeddah, the stadium is home to Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad and regularly stages Saudi national team matches. With a capacity generally cited between 60,000 and 62,345 seats, it holds a record attendance of 62,345.

A stage for major tournaments

The stadium hosted matches of the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup and is staging the AFC Champions League Elite finals in 2025 and 2026, with the 2026 final reported to draw more than 58,000 fans. It is also a scheduled venue for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup and part of the Kingdom's hosting plans for the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Earlier, it welcomed a Spanish Super Cup final with more than 60,000 spectators in attendance.

The wider King Abdullah Sports City complex includes an indoor arena seating around 10,000, athletics facilities, training pitches and a mosque.

For local fans, ticket prices remain accessible. Domestic Saudi Pro League and King's Cup matches for Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad typically range from about 50 to 80 SAR for upper tiers, 80 to 150 SAR for sideline seats, and 150 to 300 SAR for central lower-tier seating, with VIP and hospitality packages commonly starting from 500 SAR and rising depending on the fixture.

The concentration of high-profile events reflects Jeddah's growing appeal to residents and visitors alike, offering more entertainment options and reinforcing the city's place on the global sports map.
