Makkah deputy emir Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz distributed alternative land title deeds to 1,480 citizens in Jeddah in August 2026, in a step forward for local housing and land-ownership efforts. The beneficiaries had been affected by overlapping plots within the Al-Malisaa scheme.
As compensation, the affected citizens were allocated alternative plots in the Taibah development township, subdivision no. 612/J/S or 612/C/S, located northeast of Jeddah. The move is part of Jeddah Municipality procedures to resolve land overlaps and complete the allocation of land grants transferred from Al-Malisaa to the Taibah subdivision.
The plots were assigned through a digital electronic lottery mechanism designed to ensure transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity among all beneficiaries. Officials pointed to the shift toward electronic allocation as a way to make the process clearer and more efficient.
To take part, beneficiaries were asked to log in to the Jeddah Municipality customer portal using their Unified National Access (Nafath) credentials, update their personal information, and complete the required steps to join the electronic lottery and finalize their plot allocation.
For real estate title deed inquiries and related actions more generally, such services are handled through the Najiz portal after logging in with National Single Sign-On (Nafath). Publicly available information on this specific initiative does not state any fees, issuance charges, or validity periods for the alternative plots or deeds.
The initiative matters to residents because it addresses long-standing land overlap issues and moves eligible citizens closer to finalizing ownership of their plots through official digital channels.
