Jeddah Corniche Road Renamed Prince Khaled Al-Faisal Road

Jeddah Governorate Secretariat has renamed Jeddah Corniche Road to Prince Khaled Al-Faisal Road, effective 22 September 2026. The change affects one of the city's best-known coastal routes.

The road stretches roughly 17 km along the seafront, running from Al-Nakheel Street in the north to Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Road, widely known as Tahlia Street, in the south. Along its length it passes through the Al-Shati and Al-Marjan districts and takes in the area around Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

Officials confirmed this is a name change only. Residents and visitors do not need to complete any application, pay any fee, obtain a permit, or take action through any government channel. There is no validity period or paperwork attached to the update.

What it means for residents

For drivers, delivery services, and businesses along the route, the practical impact is limited to updating the road name in addresses, maps, and signage over time. There are no announced changes to venue prices, opening hours, or access to attractions along the corniche.

The corniche remains one of Jeddah's most popular destinations for walking, dining, and family outings, and the renaming does not alter public access to any of its facilities. Motorists using navigation apps may notice the new name appear as digital maps are updated in the coming period.
