A new mosque to be built in northern Riyadh will be named King Abdulaziz Mosque, The mosque is set to rise along King Abdulaziz Road in the north of the capital.
The project has been allocated a plot of 88,000 square meters, giving it a sizable footprint among community facilities in the growing northern districts of Riyadh.
At this stage, the mosque remains a planned project. Details regarding the start of construction, the timeline for completion, and any public opening date have not yet been announced.
Information about the facilities the mosque will include, along with visiting arrangements and any related services, has also not been made available so far.
Why it matters
Northern Riyadh has seen steady residential and infrastructure growth in recent years, and community landmarks such as mosques play a central role in serving new neighborhoods. A large allocated area suggests the project is intended to serve a wide catchment of residents once complete.
Saudi Living will share further updates as official details on construction progress and opening arrangements become available.
