KSrelief Completes 188 Aid Projects Worth SAR 109M

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has completed 188 relief, humanitarian, and volunteer projects in partnership with Saudi local nonprofit organizations, at a total cost exceeding SAR 109.6 million. The projects have benefited 250,791 individuals across 15 countries.

The initiative reflects a growing model in which Saudi nonprofits act as implementing partners for humanitarian work outside the Kingdom. To support this, the center operates an electronic portal—available in both Arabic and English—that allows Saudi nonprofit organizations to register, submit applications, and obtain a preliminary approval certificate to carry out relief and volunteer projects abroad. The portal serves as the official channel for organizations seeking partnership and approval, and applies specifically to work outside Saudi Arabia rather than domestic aid activities.

How the partnership works

In the initial phase of the portal, 50 local nonprofit organizations were evaluated and approved as partners based on governance and compliance standards. Together, they had implemented 229 humanitarian and relief projects and programs worth more than SAR 115 million in over 20 countries.

For the wider community in Saudi Arabia, the framework offers charities and volunteers a clear, regulated pathway to take part in international humanitarian efforts under a unified national umbrella, ensuring standards of transparency and accountability.

Looking ahead, the center's overall 2026 plan—broader than these 188 projects—includes 113 operational and human projects in 44 countries at a cost of SAR 400 million, alongside 309 volunteer programs in 42 countries costing SAR 200 million. Combined, the plan targets more than 12 million beneficiaries worldwide.
