The national program for giftedness and creativity is broadening its summer enrichment tracks in science and technology, giving Saudi students expanded opportunities to build skills in STEM fields. The tracks are delivered through Mawhiba Summer enrichment programs — Academic, Research, Universal, Smart Summer and Ambassadors — in partnership with Saudi universities and research institutions in several cities across the Kingdom.
The programs cover a wide range of disciplines, including medical, biological and chemical sciences; physical, earth and space sciences; engineering and architecture; computer science, applied mathematics and economics; data science and artificial intelligence; cybersecurity; rockets and space missions; renewable energy; robotics; blockchain; financial technology; environmental sustainability; sports physics; creative design; and geological sciences.
Sessions run during the summer vacation, typically for three weeks (15 days), and are offered both in-person and online. In-person academic enrichment runs Sunday to Thursday for a total of 60 hours, about 5.5 hours while online tracks total 45 hours, around 3 hours
Who can register and what it costs
Registration is generally open to students from grade 3 to grade 11. Applicants must be enrolled in the National Program for Gifted Identification and meet the required MMCAT score thresholds; for example, Level 3 students need MMCAT scores from 1,400 upward for research and universal enrichment programs.
For the 2026 academic enrichment program (VAT included), Levels 1 and 2 (grades 3–8) cost 1,380 SAR in-person and 460 SAR online, while Level 3 (grades 9–11) costs 2,300 SAR in-person and 575 SAR online. Fees may be reduced when programs have supporting or sponsoring entities. For the research enrichment program at Level 3 (MMCAT 1,400–1,549, VAT not included), full-time study at universities or research institutions is 3,000 SAR, and part-time is 1,750 SAR.
The expansion reflects the wider national push to prepare young talent for careers in advanced science and technology.
