National Housing Program Delivers Thousands of New Homes

The National Housing Program has reported the delivery of thousands of new residential units and developed plots across several regions of the Kingdom, part of a wide effort to raise homeownership among Saudi citizens. More than 107,000 units and plots were handed over in 2025 under municipality and housing targets, following over 98,700 units delivered in 2024.

Officials say the homeownership rate has climbed to 65.4%, compared with 47% in 2016, moving closer to the 70% goal set for 2030 under Saudi Vision 2030. In the first half of 2026 alone, 63,076 Saudi families moved into their first homes, while 48,631 families benefited from Sakani support. Subsidized housing contracts have now surpassed 1.02 million.

For 2026, the program targets 80,000 additional residential units and developed plots, backed by investments of around SAR 70 billion. By mid-2026, cumulative housing supply is expected to reach roughly 280,000 new units against a target of more than 300,000. The Developmental Housing Program, which helped over 50,000 families own homes by the end of 2025, aims to support 20,000 needy families this year.

How citizens can apply

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing leads the program alongside the National Housing Company and the Real Estate Development Fund. Citizens access services mainly through the Sakani platform (web and app), where they register with their national ID and family details, check eligibility, and choose between subsidized mortgages, ready units, or off-plan homes within integrated communities.

Support is available through the call center on 199090 (8:00–20:00, Sunday–Thursday), Business WhatsApp on 0554199090 (8:00–16:00), and branch offices (8:00–14:30). Housing services are also integrated into the National Government Services Platform at my.gov.sa. The expanded supply matters for residents facing rising demand for family housing, offering more paths to ownership across Riyadh, Jeddah, and other regions.
