Nine Appointed to Makkah Chamber of Commerce Board

The Saudi Minister of Commerce, Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, has appointed nine members to the board of the Makkah Chamber of Commerce, as the body prepares for a new four-year term covering 1448–1452 AH, corresponding to 2026–2030.

The term officially begins on 13 Jumada al-Awwal 1448 AH, which falls on 24 October 2026. The new board will oversee the chamber's work representing businesses across the Makkah region during this period.

The appointed members are Ahmed bin Rabah Hamid Al-Sharif, Shaima bint Mohammed Ahmed Mashat, Saleh bin Mohammed Awad bin Laden, Abdullah bin Saleh Abdullah Kamel, Abdullah bin Omar Abdullah Qadi, Abdulqader bin Abdulrahman Abdulqader Faqeeh, Olya bint Mazen Mahmoud Al-Sawaf, Faisal bin Qaid Saeed Qaid, and Muath bin Majdi Mohammed Hariri.

Why it matters

The appointment is intended to strengthen the representation of Makkah's business community and to support the continued development of the region's commercial and investment environment. Chambers of commerce play a central role in connecting the private sector with government services, voicing business concerns, and encouraging local economic growth.

For residents, business owners, and investors in the Makkah region, a newly formed board can influence the services and initiatives available to companies over the coming years, as the chamber works to foster a stronger commercial landscape.
