A series of royal decrees issued by King Salman has reshaped part of the Council of Ministers, most notably appointing Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman as Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources while he continues to serve as Minister of Energy.
Under the same decrees, Bandar AlKhorayef was relieved of his role as Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and appointed Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers. He was also assigned to oversee the General Authority for Military Industries in addition to his new duties.
In a related move, Ahmed Al-Ohali was relieved as governor of the General Authority for Military Industries, with responsibility for the authority now placed under AlKhorayef.
What it means for the community
The changes are administrative appointments made through royal decree. There are no fees, application steps, or validity periods connected to the reshuffle itself, and residents do not need to take any action.
Royal decrees such as these are published through the official government portal as government news and legal notices. They are not processed through digital platforms like أبشر, مقيم, قوى, ناجز, نفاذ, or توكلنا, which handle individual and business services rather than state appointments.
The consolidation of the energy and industry portfolios under one minister signals continued alignment between the two sectors, both of which are central to the Kingdom's economic diversification goals under رؤية السعودية 2030.
