Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Re-elected ISSA President

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal was re-elected president of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) for the 2026–2029 term. The decision was confirmed during the 15th ISSA General Assembly held in Taif on 12–13 September 2026.

Delegates representing 57 member countries endorsed the renewal of his mandate, extending a leadership role he has held since 2019 through the end of the new electoral cycle. The assembly also elected the association's 2026–2029 Executive Board, which includes regional vice presidents and executive members from several countries, with Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki presiding over the board for the full term.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal currently serves as Minister of Sport of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and as President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, alongside his ISSA presidency.

The renewed mandate reinforces the Kingdom's growing role in hosting and leading international sporting bodies. For residents and sports communities across Saudi Arabia, the continuity of leadership signals ongoing support for regional competitions and youth participation in the years ahead, part of the wider expansion of the sports sector in the country.
