Program to Train 900 Young Saudis for Media Careers

A new strategic partnership has been signed to train 900 Saudi job seekers for technical and specialized careers in the media and communications sector. The initiative pairs the Human Resources Development Fund with a dedicated news-training academy based at the Saudi Press Agency headquarters in Riyadh, and targets Saudi nationals aiming to work in the private-sector media industry.

The program is designed to close the gap between graduates' skills and the fast-changing needs of the labor market. It includes specialized days focused on media professions, English-language courses tailored to media and communications, and professional certificates across several fields — among them news and media production, graphics, translation and communication, media planning, and influence.

Each training track runs for 12 months, combining technical and creative development to prepare participants for advanced roles in the sector. The academy operates as a non-profit facility specializing in news-sector personnel, offering both short specialized courses and longer applied programs for fresh graduates.

Who can apply

For the longer tracks — such as translation and international media communication — applicants must hold Saudi nationality and at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited university, with priority given to majors in translation, media, or related fields. Enrollment for the supported programs is handled through the fund's official digital channels and website.

The academy was inaugurated with plans to announce its training calendar and roll out graduate programs during 2025–2026. The initiative matters for young Saudis because it offers a structured, funded pathway into a growing creative industry, helping build local talent for the country's expanding media landscape. Current details do not specify participant fees or stipends, and no validity period for the resulting certificates has been announced beyond the 12-month program duration.
