Qiddiya City Master Plan Unveiled Near Riyadh

The urban master plan and refreshed brand for القدية City were launched, positioning the large-scale destination on the outskirts of الرياض as a future global hub for entertainment, sports, culture, and urban living under the "Play Life" identity. The city sits roughly a 40‑minute drive from central الرياض, next to the Tuwaiq mountains.

The plan covers a vast area of about 334 to 360 square kilometres, with an eventual capacity of around 600,000 residents across roughly 60,000 buildings. The layout clusters districts from lower‑density natural conservation areas at the perimeter to a dense entertainment core, framing the project as a year‑round lifestyle destination built around "play."

Contracts worth around 10 billion ريال سعودي have been awarded for construction works. Planned core components include a gaming and esports district as a competition hub, a speed park track for motorsports, golf courses, the Aquarabia water theme park, the Six Flags القدية City theme park, a multipurpose stadium, and a planned Olympic museum described as one of the largest globally.

Why it matters

For families and residents across الرياض, القدية is set to become a major leisure and lifestyle option within easy reach of the capital. Its major attractions are opening in phases, with venues such as Six Flags القدية City and Aquarabia already part of the destination's current offering.

As things stand, access, residency, and business setup at القدية are expected to follow standard Saudi procedures through the national e‑government platforms and relevant ministries. No القدية‑only registration channels or entry fees for the city as a whole have been publicly detailed, with current published prices relating only to specific venues rather than to entry to the city itself.
