An investment contract has been signed to establish an integrated gas storage, filling and distribution plant in the city of Hail, in the Hail region. The agreement, signed on 16 September 2026, brings a capital cost of SAR 70 million and covers a site spanning 200,000 square meters within the city.
Under the contract, Unigaz Arabia will develop, invest in, manage, operate and maintain the facility. This includes establishing the site and providing gas storage, filling and distribution services across Hail.
The project aims to create a modern logistics hub serving residential and commercial gas needs in the region. It also seeks to support the employment of local men and women in Hail and to expand private-sector participation in municipal and public services.
Why it matters
For residents and businesses in the Hail region, the plant is designed to strengthen the local supply chain for gas, an essential utility for households and commercial operations alike. The involvement of the private sector in this area reflects a wider push to broaden participation in public services.
The move builds on earlier developments this year. In June 2026, Unigaz Arabia obtained three LPG filling and storage facility licenses in the Rihad, Hail and Al-Ahsa areas, along with a kingdom-wide wholesale LPG distribution license, awarded through a competitive tender.
No public information currently specifies exact consumer gas prices, service fees, licensing charges or application procedures tied to this specific facility. Saudi Living will share further details as they become available.
