Saudi Banking Assets Near $1.5 Trillion in July 2026

Total banking assets in Saudi Arabia reached about SAR 5.75 trillion — roughly USD 1.5 trillion — in July 2026, reflecting continued expansion of the Kingdom's financial sector, according to the monthly statistical data published by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

The July figure marks a small monthly rise from around SAR 5.73 trillion in June 2026, an increase of roughly 0.27%. On an annual basis, the gain is more pronounced: assets climbed about 6.7% compared with July 2025, when they stood at roughly SAR 5.38 trillion.

The upward trend has been steady through the year. End-2025 banking sector assets were around SAR 4.96–5.0 trillion, and early-2026 figures ranged near SAR 5.0–5.07 trillion in the first quarter, with year-on-year growth of about 8–10% before reaching the July level.

What is driving the growth

The expansion in total assets has been supported by continued growth in bank credit and deposits. Both recorded mid-single- to high-single-digit year-on-year increases through mid-2026, pointing to sustained demand for financing and steady inflows into the banking system.

It is worth noting that the aggregate asset figure is a statistical measure of the consolidated balance sheets of banks operating in the Kingdom, expressed in Saudi riyals and updated monthly. No fixed fees or prices are attached to it.

For residents and businesses, a larger and expanding banking sector signals greater capacity to lend, finance projects, and support economic activity. The figures also form part of the broader monitoring of financial-sector development under Vision 2030, with Saudi banking assets having already exceeded earlier size targets, standing at around SAR 5.1 trillion by April 2026.
