A wave of coaching changes has reshaped the technical benches of several Saudi football clubs and the national team, with fresh appointments confirmed across the 2026 period ahead of the upcoming seasons.
Al Nassr appointed Ange Postecoglou as head coach on a two-season deal in July 2026. In the same month, Al-Ittihad named Jens Wissing as head coach on a contract running through June 2028. Al Ahli followed in August 2026, appointing Marino Pusic under an agreement extending until 2028.
Other clubs also confirmed new leadership for the 2026–27 season. Al Diriyah appointed Bruno Lage as head coach for the campaign, while Al Khaleej brought in Jose Gomes on a two-year deal for the same season.
At the international level, the Saudi Arabia national team appointed Georgios Donis as head coach in April 2026, on a contract that runs until July 2027.
Why it matters
The changes come as Saudi clubs continue to strengthen their squads and technical staff, reflecting the growing profile of domestic football. For fans and residents across the Kingdom, the new appointments set the stage for the coming seasons and signal fresh strategic directions at some of the country's most prominent clubs.
With the national team also under new leadership, supporters will be watching closely to see how the incoming coaches shape their teams in the months ahead.
