Saudi Date Exports Near SAR 2 Billion in 2025

Saudi Arabia's date-export revenue reached approximately SAR 1.938 billion in 2025, a 14.3% increase compared with 2024, with shipments reaching more than 125 countries around the world.

The growth reflects rising global demand for Saudi dates and supports the Kingdom's drive to expand non-oil exports. Producers and traders who want to sell abroad must obtain a Date Export Certificate, issued through the Nama platform of the National Center for Palms and Dates. The service is free of charge.

How to apply

Exporters register on the Nama platform, complete the application, upload the required documents, select an accredited export-inspection center, and submit the request. Required documents include a Commercial Registration, a packing list, a commercial invoice, and a certificate of origin. A fumigation certificate is optional, and an import permit is optional except for shipments to Egypt.

To qualify, each shipment must use new packaging intended for dates, be free of insect pests, and carry an invoice price of at least SAR 3 The certificate is mandatory because it is linked to the automatic plant-health certificate application.

For the expat business community and local producers alike, the streamlined and cost-free process makes it easier to tap international markets, while helping safeguard the quality and reputation of Saudi dates abroad.
