Saudi Digital Economy Value Hits $199 Billion

Saudi Arabia's digital economy has recorded strong growth over recent years, expanding by about 69% since 2022 to reach an estimated value of USD 199 billion, up from roughly USD 118 billion. The figures point to the accelerating role of digital activity across the national economy.

Separate official data placed the broader Saudi digital economy at around SAR 495 billion (about USD 132 billion) in 2025, contributing an estimated 15–16% of national GDP. The digital economy's share of GDP reached 16.0% in 2024, up from 15.6% in 2023, an increase of 0.4 percentage points.

The wider information and communications technology (ICT) market reached about SAR 199 billion (USD 53 billion) in 2025, having grown from roughly SAR 105–115 billion in 2017, representing close to 90% growth over that period. Another estimate showed the digital economy expanding from about SAR 300 billion to about SAR 522 billion, a rise of more than 75%.

ICT sector operating revenues reached about SAR 249.8 billion in 2024, with ICT goods imports at around SAR 67.9 billion and exports and re-exports at about SAR 25.8 billion, both posting strong year-on-year growth.

Why it matters

For residents and businesses, the numbers reflect a deepening digital environment covering online services, e-commerce, connectivity and technology investment. It is worth noting that these figures represent a macro-economic valuation rather than a fee-based program, so there is no user-facing procedure or SAR price list linked to the growth figure. The data is reported through national statistics and official statements.
