Saudi Arabia's renewable-energy pipeline has reached a combined 63.8 gigawatts across 53 solar and wind projects, marking a significant milestone in the Kingdom's push to diversify its power sources.
The figure spans projects at different stages of progress, including those already installed, those under development, and others that have been tendered. It is important to note that this total does not represent currently operating capacity, but rather the full scope of projects moving through the national pipeline.
Of these, eight projects with a combined capacity of 7.7 gigawatts are expected to be commissioned in 2026. Two of the 2026 projects remain under development: the Henakiyah 2 solar project, with a capacity of 400 megawatts in the Madinah Region, and the Rabigh 2 solar project, with a capacity of 300 megawatts in the Makkah Region.
Why it matters
The growing pipeline reflects a broad national effort to expand clean-energy generation and build out the infrastructure needed to support future demand. As new solar and wind capacity comes online, it contributes to a more diversified national power mix aligned with رؤية السعودية 2030.
For residents and businesses across الرياض, جدة, and other regions, the steady rollout of these projects signals long-term investment in the Kingdom's energy foundations. The expansion touches national infrastructure rather than any single venue or service, and no fees, prices, or application steps are associated with this project-pipeline statistic.
