Saudi Arabia recorded a merchandise trade surplus of SR18 billion in June 2026, roughly 10% narrower than the surplus of around SR20 to SR22.1 billion posted in June 2025, The narrowing came as both exports and imports fell compared with a year earlier.
Merchandise exports totaled SR87.76 billion in June 2026, a decline of 4.5% year-on-year from SR92.1 billion. Imports fell 3% to SR70.45 billion over the same period.
Non-oil exports, including re-exports, dropped 9.7% year-on-year, while national non-oil exports fell 11.4%. The non-oil export-to-import ratio slipped to 34.9% in June 2026, down from 37.5% a year earlier — a reminder of the ongoing push under Saudi Vision 2030 to broaden the economy beyond oil.
Oil exports stood at about SR63.2 billion in June 2026, down SR7.71 billion from May 2026. Oil's share of total exports rose to 72%, compared with 70.4% in June 2025.
The June 2026 figures are preliminary and are based on administrative records for oil and non-oil trade. Detailed statistics were published under the "International Trade in Goods, June 2026" release. For residents and businesses, the numbers offer a snapshot of shifting export demand and the Kingdom's continued effort to grow non-oil trade.
