Saudi Women Take Top Spots in Hill Climb Cup 2026

Two Saudi racers secured top positions in the Women's Cup category of the 2026 Saudi Toyota Championship Hill Climb, held across three rounds on the Aqabat Al-Mohammadiyah course in the Al-Shafa area of Taif. Saudi driver Reem Al-Aboud was awarded the Women's Cup in the season's final round, reflecting her top placement among female competitors.

Three female competitors took part in all three rounds of the 2026 season, marking sustained female participation across the full domestic championship. In total, the season featured 178 entries, including four non-Saudi competitors and the three women, showing that female drivers now represent a visible and growing presence in domestic hill climb motorsport.

The Women's Cup is structured as a classification and trophy within the overall event rather than a standalone series. Female drivers compete on the same course and timing format as male drivers, with additional recognition and awards for the Women's Cup category.

The Hill Climb championship is sanctioned as a national motorsport series. Participation requires a valid competition license issued through the national motorsport federation's official registration channels, along with compliance with technical and safety regulations. Registration and licensing are handled through motorsport-specific federation platforms and event organizers.

The result adds to a broader trend of expanding opportunities for women in Saudi motorsport. Recent seasons of domestic Formula 4 and Race4Women initiatives have seen female participation approaching or exceeding 40 to 50 percent of some grids and programs, offering a pathway and experience base that feeds into competitions such as the Hill Climb Championship.
